Cannabinoid is not a new term. When the word cannabinoid is mentioned, what flashes through your mind are the three main classes of cannabis compound. Phytocannabinoids make up the first class. Members of this class occur naturally in the Cannabis Sativa plant.
The second class is referred to as the endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are produced naturally in the human body.
The last class is known as the artificial or man-made synthetic cannabinoids. Every class of cannabinoid is unique – each with its own properties. Their effects on the human body vary greatly, and the impact on a human organism varies in a number of ways. Based on these, no conclusive studies or findings have been done on the very unique Cannabis Sativa plant.
The Cannabis Sativa plant has many therapeutic and medicinal effects. Research into all compounds present in the cannabis plant was stalled because of a lack of legalization in most states.
The cannabis plant contains at least 400 compounds. Not all have been explored. These compounds contain substances that have psychoactive and non-psychoactive effects. The effect of each compound on the human body is unique.
Some of these compounds have positive effects on the human body. These include treatment of epileptic symptoms, cancer and chronic pain.
About Cannabicitran (CBT)
Cannabicitran is one of the compounds present in the cannabis plant. It is classified as a cannabinoid. There is no information about the therapeutic or medical effects of this compound. Thus, we cannot make explicit conclusions on its positive or negative effects on the human body.
The molecular formula for the CBT compound is C21H30O2.
Its IUPAC name is 96AR, 9R, 10AS) – 6, 6, 9-Trimethyl-3-pentyl-6A, 7, 8, 9, 10A-hexahydro-6H-1, 9-epoxybenzo[c] chromene.
Its molecular weight is 314.462g/mol. Also, it has a total heavy atom count of 23. The cannabinoid, according to reports was isolated from Lebanese hashish. It has great similarity to the synthetic citrylidene-cannabis.
As a matter of fact, this is all the information available on Cannabicitran. There is no adequate information on the effects of this compound on the human body as regards consumption.
Marijuana has been legalized in some U.S. states while it is still being prohibited in some. At least 23 European nations have legalized the use of cannabis in drug production.
However, the only way that cannabicitran can be made useful is to carry out intense research on its therapeutic properties and the use of its hundreds of compounds.
